Winter Grasses

I find that the winter grasses are beautiful in the snow. This rather large clump can be seen outside a doctor's office here in Guelph beside the parking lot. I waited for the parking lot to pretty well clear out to make this photo.

It's just beautiful in the sunglight.

It's wonderful what we can see if we only take the time to look. Photography has opened my eyes to so much!

The textures and colors are so lovely! This proves that there are things to photograph in the snow!

I love ornamental grasses, and the light through these is wonderful. Great photo.

Thanks Sheila...

Wish we could grow the pampas grass like they do in England. My cousin has a clump that must be about 14 feet tall!

Do they call it Pampas Grass there?

Annie, they have many grasses over here in the classification of ornamental grasses but our winter kills off the pampas grass like you have in England. It just can't take our winters.

I did hear though that they are trying to develop one but who knows how many years that will take.

Oops! Annie, I think you're in Arkansas, not England! Sorry about that. I was thinking of Ruth and mrsnesbitt.

Hi Pat,
Your photos are wonderful - I particularly love the one of Geordie - he is gorgeous. Thanks for visiting Belfast - I'll try to get some shots of the Shore Road in the near future!

It looks so nice and soft, it makes you want to reach out and touch it.

Lovely.
